SoMa
SoMa, a name referring to the downtown district of South Main, is experiencing renewed interest and reinvestment. SoMa promotes the growth and development of an inclusive, independent and individual population that embraces its past, but is excited about its future in supporting new urban and hip sustainable living.
Community Bakery, Boulevard Bread, The Green Store, The Root Cafe, The Oxford American, studioMain, and other businesses, old and new, are turning SoMa into a pedestrian oasis and supporting its surrounding neighborhood. SoMa has become the scene for various events including The Cornbread Festival and a Mardi Gras Parade. The Bernice Garden, a privately-owned sculpture park open to the public, also holds many special events.
Other businesses include USA Drug and Edwards Food Giant.
